Thoroughgoing Survey into US Military Bases Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- Opposition parties of south Korea condemned the U.S. forces present in south Korea for trying to conceal the truth about their burial of defoliant.

A spokesman for the Democratic Party in a briefing on May 25 said that the U.S. forces' burial of defoliant increases anxiety of the people but the U.S. forces are taking irresponsible attitude, claiming that they will examine documents first of all.

Such attitude can never be allowed, he said, demanding that a thoroughgoing survey be made into not only the burial places in Chilgok and Puchon but all other U.S. military bases.

A spokesman for the Democratic Labor Party in a commentary on the same day charged that a joint fact-finding group on May 23 made a superficial inspection of only the places, conducted by the U.S. forces, under their watch. He stressed the need to make a substantial investigation into the truth to thoroughly probe all the U.S. military bases.

That day the Citizens Solidarity for Democratic Society released a commentary urging an overall open survey into the U.S. military bases in south Korea.

The people's discontent will never calm down unless a thoroughgoing probe into the burial of defoliant and open survey into the U.S. military bases are made, the commentary warned.
