They charged that the present regime has incited confrontation with fellow countrymen under the pretext of the "Cheonan" warship sinking case, thus further deteriorating the north-south relations and escalating the tension in the Korean Peninsula.

The present authorities should be well aware that what will be gained through north-south dialogue and cooperation is peace and reunification and what will be brought through tension and war is only ruin, they said.

They held that the present "government" should come out at an early date to implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration which are beneficial to the south and the north and the way for realizing peaceful reunification.
