China Marks 60th Anniversary of Tibet's Peaceful Liberation
Beijing, May 26 (KCNA) -- Various events took place in China to mark the 60th anniversary of Tibet's peaceful liberation.

A symposium of personages from various circles in the capital was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on May 23.

Tibet is an inseparable part of China and its fate has always been closely linked with that of the country, said Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, at the symposium.

He noted Tibet's peaceful liberation was achieved at last on May 23, 1951, adding over the past 60 years Tibet has made great achievements.

A "photo exhibition commemorating Tibet's peaceful liberation-its six decades" opened at the Beijing National Palace of Culture on the same day.

Flower-presenting ceremony, concert and seminar took place and commemorative stamp "60th Anniversary of Tibet's Peaceful Liberation" was published.
