Anniversary of Kwangju Popular Uprising Marked by British
Pyongyang, May 23 (KCNA) -- The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy on May 10 posted articles on its Internet homepage to mark the 31st anniversary of the Kwangju Popular Uprising in south Korea.

In an article titled "Kwangju calls" the homepage referred to the uprising, saying:

The truth about the killings in Kwangju, the massacre of people unprecedented in history, can never be concealed and this tragedy will not fade out of the south Korean people's memory no matter how much water may flow under the bridge.

The root cause of all misfortune and sufferings the south Korean people are now undergoing is the U.S. imperialists' occupation of south Korea.

It is the U.S. imperialists that caused the bloody tragedy in Kwangju 31 years ago.

The south Korean people will struggle in close unity as one in the spirit of the Kwangju martyrs who fought a heroic fight, defying death and not yielding to immorality and dictatorship, and thus deal a sledge hammer of ruin to the Lee Myung Bak regime, a group of heinous traitors.

In an article titled "Due punishment" the homepage noted that the opposition parties overpowered the "Grand National Party" in the by-election held in south Korea.

The election returns is the south Korean people's stern punishment on the present conservative ruling forces hell-bent on sycophancy toward the U.S., fascist dictatorship and the moves against reunification and the DPRK, the article said.
