Gravity-fed Waterways in DPRK Introduced by Russian Internet Magazine
Pyongyang, May 22 (KCNA) ?- The Russian Internet magazine "Liv Zurnal" on May 16 carried an article titled "Construction of Gravity-fed Waterways in DPRK".

The article referred to the fact that the projects of the Kaechon-Lake Thaesong Waterway, the Paekma-Cholsan Waterway and the Miru Plain Waterway were completed in a short span of time in the DPRK in the new century.

It went on:

The construction of these waterways helped consolidate the material and technological foundation for boosting the agricultural production in the DPRK and bring about a change in the use of land in the country.

It led to saving a lot of electricity used for pumping water.

The above-said waterways are providing water for industrial and household uses, contributing to economic construction and people’s living. They, at the same time, are making the landscape of areas more beautiful by meandering along high and low mountains, hills and roads.

These waterways completed under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il are bringing bigger benefits to the industrious Korean people.
