US Senators Urge Rethink on Okinawa Base Plan
Pyongyang, May 15 (KCNA) -- Three top U.S. senators have called for a review of a planned reorganization of U.S. forces in East Asia, including the Okinawa base relocation project.

The senators described the realignment plans as "unworkable and unaffordable".

The call came in a joint statement on Wednesday from Democrat Senator Carl Levin, highest-ranking member of the Senate Committee on Armed Services, and two other senators.

"The significant estimated cost growth associated with some projects is simply unaffordable in today's increasingly constrained fiscal environment," Levin said in the statement.
