Speakers at the press conference said that the authorities let the minister of Unification stay in office during the Cabinet reshuffle, adding that this proves their stand to continue pursuing the policy for confrontation with the DPRK defying the people's mindset reflected in the April 27 by-election.

The confrontation between the south and the north is escalating day by day because the "government" is staging ceaseless exercises for a war of aggression against the north by mobilizing even preemptive nuclear attack means in league with its masters U.S. and Japan in denial of the June 15 joint declaration, they noted, and continued:

The present reality calls upon all the people to wage actions to force the authorities to roll back the policy of confrontation with the DPRK and prevent a war disaster.

They demanded the authorities immediately resume south-north dialogue, fire the minister of Unification, commit themselves to implementing the south-north joint declarations, retract the policy of confrontation with the DPRK and stop the joint military exercises with the U.S.

At the end of the press conference the sit-in strike group launched a strike.
