Radioactivity Observation Result Released
Pyongyang, May 12 (KCNA) -- An observation result of radioactive fallouts from Japan's Fukushima atomic reactors was made public in the DPRK.

According to the result, very small amounts of iodine-131 and cesium-137 began to be detected in the air on around March 25. In early April the density of iodine-131 and cesium-137 detected from air samples rose to 0.37 and 0.19 micro Becquerel per cubic meter respectively. Their level dropped again after rainfalls in mid- and late April.

In early May their level remained low, 0.01 micro Becquerel per cubic meter.

The result shows that the water, plants and fishes in the east and west seas of Korea have not yet been affected by the nuclear accident.
