Meeting of Koreans in Japan Held to Help Eradicate Aftermath of Quake
Pyongyang, May 12 (KCNA) -- A meeting of Koreans in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan was held at Tohoku Korean Primary and Middle School on April 29 to help eradicate the aftermath of the massive earthquake and the ensuing tsunami as early as possible.

Attending there were officials of the Miyagi Prefectural Headquarters of the Central Emergency Measure Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, compatriots in the prefecture and members of Chongryon organizations of different parts of Japan.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

Ri Yong Sik, chairman of the Miyagi Prefectural Headquarters of the said committee, called upon the compatriots in the prefecture to rehabilitate the school and bring the living of the Korean community to normal at an early date with the support of compatriots of different parts, inspired by the relief fund sent by General Secretary Kim Jong Il with his loving care.

Pae Man Sok, chairman of the Miyagi Prefectural Commercial Association, said: We have the homeland, organizations and compatriots, evincing his will to take the lead in the work to recover from the quake damage.

Ryu Han Song, chairman of the Miyagi Prefectural Youth Commercial Association, said that he would work hard for rehabilitation, noting that now is the time to devote everything to it.
