Papers Call for Strong Support to Countryside
Pyongyang, May 11 (KCNA) -- Leading papers Wednesday editorially call for strong support to the countryside.

Rodong Sinmun appeals to the whole party, the whole country and all people to turn out as one in the drive to wind up the rice transplantation qualitatively in right time in hearty response to the call of the Workers' Party of Korea for bringing about a signal improvement in the standard of people's living.

The daily goes on:

The party requires the agricultural working people to bring about great innovations and a great leap forward in agricultural production by learning from the spirit and traits displayed by the preceding generations.

They can do anything in the world if they work in the same indomitable fighting spirit as displayed by the people of the Xiaowangqing Guerrilla Zone in tilling fields and sowing seeds there to send food to guerillas, while fighting bloody battles during the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

They should bring about miracles and innovations in the rice-transplanting campaign by learning from the work style of the patriotic peasants who ensured increased food production in wartime under the banner of the slogan "The Rear Is, as It Were, the Front!" They should, at the same time, bring about collective innovations in the rice-transplanting campaign by helping and leading each other along under the slogan "One for All and All for One!"

All fields and units of the national economy should unconditionally provide on top priority manpower, equipment and farm materials needed for the campaign on the principle of subordinating everything to farming.

Minju Joson calls for focusing all efforts and mobilizing everything for the drive to help the farmers in their efforts to effect signal innovations in agricultural production this year, true to the Songun leadership of the WPK.
