Chinese Defense Minister on Boosting Sino-DPRK Friendship
Pyongyang, May 11 (KCNA) -- DPRK Ambassador to China Ji Jae Ryong on Monday paid a courtesy call on Liang Guanglie, state councilor and minister of National Defense of China.

The minister recollected with deep emotion the days of his visit to the DPRK. The Sino-DPRK friendship is the traditional friendship personally provided by the revolutionaries of the elder generation of China including Chairman Mao Zedong and President Kim Il Sung and the militant friendship which was sealed in blood and stood the test, he said, stressing the need to set greater store by this common treasure.

He went on:

The Sino-DPRK relations are the relationship in which the two peoples respected and trusted, positively supported and cooperated with each other not only in the wartime but in the peacetime. The Chinese people fought alongside the Korean people against the U.S. imperialists' aggression.

In recent years the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries have steadily grown stronger and the two armies have made positive contributions to promoting the development of their countries and protecting the common interests of the two sides and regional peace and stability, he said.

Many successes have been registered in cooperation, visits and in other aspects between the two armies under the care of General Secretary Hu Jintao and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, he noted, reiterating the will to boost them.
