War Victory Day Celebrated in Russia
Moscow, May 9 (KCNA) -- The 66th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War was celebrated in Russia.

Russian President Dmitri Medvedev laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier by the Wall of the Kremlin, Moscow on Sunday.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, members of the Federation Council and deputies to the State Duma, members of the Presidential Administration and the government, commanding officers of the army, war veterans, representatives of political parties and organizations and people from all walks of life.

An inaugural ceremony of the "Flag of Victory" Hall of the Central Museum of the Russian Armed Forces took place on the same day with the Russian president attending.

A military parade celebrating the 66th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War was held at Red Square in Moscow on Monday and a reception was given in Kremlin on the occasion.

That day meetings with war veterans, art performances, concerts and other colorful events took place in hero cities and many other cities and villages across the country and films on the theme of military patriotism were shown at cinema houses and aired by T.V. broadcasting services.
