Halt to Suppression of Reunification Activists Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) --A spokesman for the Democratic Labor Party of south Korea in a commentary issued on May 4 denounced the puppet authorities' suppression of the Youth and Students Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration.

The commentary recalled that the police and the Intelligence Service arrested the executive chairman of the organization and searched office rooms and houses of its former and incumbent members all at once that day on charges that they violated the "National Security Law" by having contact and exchange with the north.

This fascist suppression by the security forces was aimed to retrieve the shameful defeat in the April 27 by-election, it said.

The authorities are working hard to make the political situation favorable to them by enforcing a horror-ridden politics through the invocation of the fascist law but this will get them nowhere, the commentary held.

The commentary demanded that the security forces set free the arrested reunification activists immediately and stop at once the anachronistic crackdown.
