Repression of Candlelight Actions Flayed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, May 6 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Citizens Political Action on May 2 launched a signature campaign in protest against the puppet authorities' unreasonable suppression of the participants in the candlelight actions.

The authorities are trying to inflict criminal punishment on more than 1,400 persons for the mere reason that they took part in the candlelight actions against the American beef import in 2008, the organization charged.

The large-scale candlelight actions at that time were a just protest of the people from all walks of life against the unilateral policy of the "government", it said.

The organization said that it would stand against the repressive step of the authorities branding the participants in the candlelight actions as "criminals".
