Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) -- The 6th Symposium on Architectural Aesthetics took place at the People's Palace of Culture on Tuesday.

Present there were Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Jon Ha Chol, vice-premier of the Cabinet, officials concerned, officials in the fields of architecture, building and building materials, designers, technicians, teachers, researchers and creators in Pyongyang and local areas.

The symposium was held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's work "Theory of Architectural Art". Speakers at the symposium explained and proved in depth the scientific accuracy and vitality of the ideas and theories expounded in the work and the issues arising in building monumental edifices in the era of Songun true to the idea of the WPK on architecture.

They said that the work comprehensively analyzes and reviews the achievements and experience gained in the architectural field of the country and the human history of architecture and gives perfect answers to all the theoretical and practical problems arising in practice.

They stressed that many monumental edifices glorifying the era have sprung up in different parts of the country and cities and villages have turned into a socialist land of bliss thanks to the drive to apply the Juche-based ideas and theories on architecture over the past two decades, ushering in a great heyday of Juche-based architecture.

They noted that the essence and contents of architecture have been clarified scientifically thanks to the original ideas and theories on architecture and society enunciated in the work.
