Struggle for Independence and Reunification Urged in S. Korea

| Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- The Society of April Revolution and the preparatory committee for the People's Strength for New Society in south Korea held a joint memorial service for the participants in the April 19 Popular Uprising in Seoul on Tuesday. At the service speakers noted that they are recalling the historic significance of the uprising. The social democratization is now facing a serious crisis, they said, adding that such reality asks all the people to rise up again as they did 51 years ago. They called upon the people from all walks of life to get united as one and wage a dynamic struggle for independence, democracy and reunification as desired by the uprisers. |
