Kim Il Sung's Birth Anniversary Commemorated Abroad
Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries to commemorate the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

There were a joint seminar of Finnish political parties and organizations in Helsinki on April 13 and seminar, meeting, lecture and Korean book and photo exhibition in Cotonou, Portonobo and other regions of Benin between March 28 and April 14.

On display at their venues were works of the President and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, photos on their exploits, books and photos showing the Korean army and people in the efforts to build a thriving nation.

The participants in the joint seminar laid bouquets before the portraits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and paid tribute to them.

Antti Sika Aho, chairman of the Finnish Mangyongdae Committee for Commemorating the Centenary of Birth of President Kim Il Sung, in his report at the joint seminar said that the whole life of the President was that of the legendary great man who saved and defended the destiny of the country and the nation. It was also the history of great devotion as he built a country of the people and turned it into a socialist power, the reporter added.

Chairman of the Communist Workers' Party of Finland for the Peace and Socialism Hannu Harju, Chairman of the Finnish Communists' League Kalevi Wahrman and the honorary chairman of the Finnish National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea spoke highly of the immortal exploits of the President.

The chairman of the Benin National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea and General Kim Jong Il's Works said in his report at a seminar that Kim Il Sung advanced the three charters for national reunification to provide a great programme for Korea's independent and peaceful reunification.

A message to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the joint seminar in Finland.
