Kang Pan Sok, an indomitable revolutionary and an outstanding leader of the Korean women's movement, was born there on April 21, 1892.

Bronze statues of President Kim Il Sung and his mother Kang Pan Sok are standing there. Preserved there are the native home of Kang Pan Sok and places associated with her son's childhood like Changdok School and soldier playing, reading and Korean wrestling sites.

On the occasion of her birth anniversary many people, including schoolchildren, have visited the revolutionary site.

From the beginning of the year nearly 60,000 local and foreign people and overseas Koreans have visited it.
