Japan Censured for Discharging Contaminated Water
Pyongyang, April 18 (KCNA) -- Officials of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in a recent press conference in Moscow strongly condemned Japan's discharge of the contaminated water into sea as international crime.

Three persons concerned including Ostretsov, who worked as field chief at the time of the Chernobyl nuclear accident, said that Japan's behavior is in violation of the London Treaty, a treaty for preventing sea contamination by wastes and other substances.

The discharge was done without letting the public know about what substances were contained in the contaminated water and offering any scientific estimation of their effect, they pointed out.
