It, under the theme of "Broad Vision, Shared Prosperity", discussed the issues on keeping step with each other in the world economic and financial fields and boosting cooperation among BRICS member nations for common development.

The Sanya Declaration was adopted at the summit.

The declaration said that BRICS is aimed to contribute to building more equal and fair world and will serve as a major forum for dialogue and multilateral cooperation in the economic and financial fields.

"We share the principle that the use of force should be avoided," said the declaration.

It also stressed the need for a comprehensive reform of the UN, including its Security Council and called for reforming the international financial and monetary system.
