Meetings of Conveying Relief Fund Go On in Japan
Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- Meetings were held at Ibaraki Korean Primary and Senior High School and Fukushima Korean Primary and Middle School in Japan on April 10 and 11 to convey the relief fund sent by General Secretary Kim Jong Il to Korean residents who suffered from the killer quake and ensuing tsunami.

Present at the meetings were Nam Sung U, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), the chairmen and officials of the Ibaraki and Fukushima prefectural headquarters of Chongryon, disaster-stricken compatriots, staff and students of the schools and parents of students.

Nam made delivery speeches at the meetings.

Officials of Chongryon and compatriots should overcome the present trials by displaying the indomitable will and the spirit of mutual support and assistance, cherishing the warm love of Kim Jong Il, he said.

He stressed the need to rehabilitate and normalize the compatriots' life and business activities of commercial workers as early as possible and dynamically advance the patriotic movement of Chongryon.

Then the relief fund was conveyed to the disaster-hit Korean residents.

Speakers expressed gratitude to Kim Jong Il who sent precious relief fund with worry about disaster-afflicted compatriots in Japan.

Letters to Kim Jong Il were read out at the meetings.
