Chollima Statue
Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- The Chollima Statue is standing on Mansu Hill in Pyongyang.

Chollima is a legendary horse running 400 kilometers a day.

The statue consists of a bronze sculpture of a male worker and a female peasant riding Chollima and a granite column of light gray color.

The worker holds high a letter issued by the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee and the peasant takes a sheaf of rice in her arms.

They represent the Korean people bringing about epoch-making changes in the country.

One day in November Juche 47 (1958), President Kim Il Sung suggested erecting the statue symbolizing the revolutionary mettle of the Korean people.

He paid close attention to the project from the design of the statue and its erection.

The statue was unveiled on April 15, Juche 50 (1961).
