Colorful Events Held Abroad
Pyongyang, April 12 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries from March 29 to April 5 on the occasions of the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, the 18th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Korean People's Army. They included a meeting, remembrance meeting, lecture, photo exhibition and film show in Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Brazil, Sweden and Guinea.

On display in the venues of the events were photos showing the revolutionary history of Kim Il Sung and revolutionary exploits of Kim Jong Il.

The participants of the film show watched Korean films including "Pyongyang Today" and "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation".

Mohammad Aslam Nagi, secretary general of the Lahore Branch of the Pakistan-Korea Friendship Association, praised the immortal exploits performed by the President for the country and the revolution.

M. Jahangir Khan, advisor of the Bangladesh Barisal Society for the Study of Songun Policy, said that Kim Jong Il, carrying forward the Songun idea and exploits of Kim Il Sung, formulated the Songun politics as a basic political mode of socialism and augmented in every way the overall national power depending on the powerful military capability.

The mayor of Campinas City, Sao Paulo State, Brazil noted that the socialist paradise built in the DPRK is the brilliant fruition of the wise leadership of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

The chief of the Swedish Group for the Study of the Juche Idea said that thanks to Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the NDC of the DPRK the KPA has been firmly prepared as an army strong in ideology and faith and an invincible elite army.

A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted at a meeting in Pakistan.
