Rescue Activities for Korean Quake Victims in Japan Conducted
Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- Overseas Koreans' organizations are stepping up the rescue activities for Korean quake- and tsunami-victims in Japan.

The Higashinari Branch of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) in an article addressed to the compatriots in Tohoku area expressed deep consolation and sympathy to the compatriots who suffered a lot from massive quake and the ensuing tsunami and the bereaved families.

Recalling that Chongryon officials and compatriots on the spot are finding out the disaster-stricken compatriots and helping even Japanese by pooling efforts, the organization added this instilled into the compatriots the conviction that the Korean community and Korean schools in Tohoku are sure to be rehabilitated.

Expressing hope that the living of the above-said compatriots would return to normal at an early date and rehabilitation make progress, the organization declared that the officials and compatriots under the branch would render every possible help to them.

Meanwhile, the General Association of Young Koreans in China sent a message of sympathy to the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Youth League in Japan and the U.S. Regional Committee of the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration to the Japanese Regional Committee of the committee and they are conducting fund-raising campaigns for the Korean victims.
