Kim Jong Il Provides Field Guidance to Factories in Kanggye City
Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il provided field guidance to factories in Kanggye City.

The first leg of his guidance was the Kanggye General Tractor Plant.

While going round different shops of the plant and the newly manufactured machines, he acquainted himself in detail with the technological updating and production there.

After watching various type CNC-based machines that stand in rows at every worksite and quality processed machine parts, he expressed great satisfaction over the rapid progress made by the plant in production by putting all its production processes on a CNC basis and developing new technology.

He highly praised the officials, workers and technicians of the plant for their feats, saying they are the genuine builders of a thriving nation, ardent patriots and fighters devotedly implementing the Party's policies as they are transforming their plant in a revolutionary way.

The plant, a model of modernization, set an example not only in production but in supply service for the workers and cultured practices in production and hygiene, he said, calling upon all the units to learn from their experience.

He advanced important tasks to serve as guidelines for the management and operation of the plant and production there.

He set the target to be attained by the plant in the near future and indicated the concrete orientation and ways to do so.

The second leg of his guidance was the Kanggye Koryo Medicine Factory.

Making the rounds of various places of the factory, he learned in detail about the technological updating and production there.

He was greatly satisfied to see the factory mass-producing highly efficacious Koryo medicines by sprucing up itself hygienically and culturally as befitting a pharmaceutical factory and using various kinds of medicinal herbs found in abundance in its local area.

The factory has registered many achievements in the drive to put Koryo medicines on an extract and scientific basis, he said, praising the officials, workers and technicians of the factory for having worked hard to promote the people's health.

He set forth the tasks facing the factory.

It is of weighty significance in promoting the people's health to develop Koryo medicines as they are good ones which have long been widely used in Korea, he said.

He underscored the need for the factory to mass-produce Koryo medicines and supply them to the Kanggye citizens and other people as it has laid a solid material and technological foundation for putting Koryo medicines on an industrial and scientific basis and has a wealth of experience.

All the Koryo medicines produced by the factory should be good to take and highly efficacious, he said, stressing the need to produce more famous medicines conducive to promoting the people's health.

He expressed great expectation and conviction that the officials, workers and technicians of the factory would bring about a new turn in medicine production.

He was accompanied by Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK, Kim Kyong Hui, member of the Political Bureau and department director of the C.C., the WPK, Jang Song Thaek, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK and vice-chairman of the NDC, Pak To Chun and Thae Jong Su, alternate members of the Political Bureau and secretaries of the C.C., the WPK, Ju Kyu Chang, alternate member of the Political Bureau and department director of the C.C., the WPK, and Ju Yong Sik, chief secretary of the Jagang Provincial Committee of the WPK.
