Seen at the festival venue are a poster "The President's sun-style of penmanship will shine forever!" which depicted Kim Il Sung writing the poem "Bright Star" and a Korean painting "Finding a young talent" which depicted the President and leader Kim Jong Il who are seeing calligraphic skill of a schoolgirl.

Presented to the festival, divided into groups of experts and university students, secondary and primary schoolers and kindergarteners and other groups, are at least 350 calligraphic works.

The Songhwa fine art exhibition was opened that day to commemorate the Day of the Sun.
