Gilt-Bronze Statue of Wang Kon
Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- On show at the Korean Central History Museum is a gilt-bronze sedentary statue of Wang Kon in his forties. He is the founder-king of Koryo (918-1392), the first united state of Korea.

The statue was unearthed near the Mausoleum of the king when it was under reconstruction in Juche 86 (1997).

His crown is decorated with the sun and moon symbolizing emperor or king.

The statute is preserved as a valuable treasure.
