The white paper made it clear that China is steadfastly following the road of peace and planning economic construction and defense building in a uniform manner, pursuant to an independent and sovereign peace-loving diplomatic policy and defense policy, to build a rich country and a powerful army in a uniform way.

China will not seek hegemony and military expansion in the future, too, it noted.
