Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- Jewel painting is a special form of pictorial art created by the Korean people.

The form was created in the 1980s, called Korean jewel painting, in order to keep art works from becoming discolored.

The jewel painting is characterized by elegant colors and a mixture of arts and crafts.
