S. Korean Paper on Wrongdoing of Gov't Officials
Pyongyang, March 31 (KCNA) -- In south Korea high-ranking officials have been working hard to build their wealth, according to Kyunghyang Daily News of south Korea on March 28.

Some time ago there was a campaign of opening their property status to public. This shows that 70 percent of the officials increased their wealth by a large margin as against last year.

In particular, 89 percent of the officials of secretary and above level at Chongwadae snowballed their property. The average amount increased per each of them totals to 184.3 million won in south Korean currency.

The majority of office-holders have several apartment houses. They are getting hell-bent on increasing their wealth through speculation on real estate and raising profits through stock dealings.

The wife of Won Se Hun, director of the Intelligence Service, holds stocks worth over 200 million won. Meanwhile, it was recently disclosed that the wife of Lee Myung Bak has kept a deposit savings of over 200 million won.

Such wrongdoings are attributable to the present "government's" policy for the rich, the paper said, adding that nobody will show trust in those dirty officials.
