S. Korean Police's Moves to Stamp Out Democratization Censured
Pyongyang, March 27 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification in a statement on March 23 denounced the police authorities for their conspiratorial suppression to remain in power.

The statement recalled that the police on March 21 kicked up the large repressive racket against the students' economic and academic organization in Seoul, Kyonggi Province, Taegu, Pusan and all other areas in south Korea.

It condemned the security authorities for blocking the economic and academic researches of the students while terming them "enemy-benefiting".

It accused the Lee Myung Bak regime of having worked hard to stamp out democratization while drastically increasing the budget for the security organs for three years since it took office.

The recent suppression under the pretence of security was prompted by the scheme to calm down the people from all walks of life angered by the repressive rule of the present regime against democracy, people's livelihood and reunification, it noted.

The authorities should stop at once the repressive racket and no longer try to remain in power at the sacrifice of the people, it warned.
