Chongryon's Rescue Activities Brisk to Recover from Quake Damage
Pyongyang, March 24 (KCNA) -- The General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) is carrying on its rescue activities to recover from quake damage and bring the living of compatriots to normal.

The Central Emergency Measure Committee under Chongryon formed its medical group and dispatched it on March 20 to Tohoku Korean Primary and Secondary School with relief goods.

The group is conducting brisk health service including medical check of Korean refugees at the dormitory of the school.

On the same day, the Miyagi Prefectural Headquarters under the said committee provided the foods prepared by organizations and Koreans under Chongryon in different parts of Japan with sincerity not only to Koreans but also to Japanese citizens at Yagiyama Secondary School.

On March 19, the members of the said committee active in Miyagi Prefecture visited tsunami-stricken Ishinomaki City and Onagawa-jong of Oshika County together with officials on the spot and handed relief goods to Koreans and Japanese citizens. They encouraged them to overcome the trial with redoubled efforts, telling them that all the Koreans across Japan are out to eradicate the aftermath of the quake.

On the same day, a rescue group made up of officials of the Korean Youth Commercial Association of Kanagawa Prefecture, the Korean Youth Commercial Association of Kawasaki Region and the Kanagawa Prefectural Headquarters of the Korean Youth League in Japan handed relief goods to Koreans in Miyagi Prefecture.

Members of the Korean Commercial Association of Taito Region of Tokyo Metropolis and those of the Taito Branch of the Tokyo Metropolis of the league conveyed to Koreans in the stricken areas more than 800 suits of dresses donated by a Korean businessman.
