Unity of Progressive Forces in S. Korea Called for
Pyongyang, March 24 (KCNA) -- The March 15 issue of Minjok Sibo, newspaper of Koreans published in Japan, carries an article calling for the unity of the progressive forces in south Korea.

The article accused the "Grand National Party,'' a conservative political party in south Korea, of perpetrating such sycophantic and treacherous acts as imploring the U.S. to postpone the transfer of the right to control wartime operations and taking a submissive attitude in the negotiations for the conclusion of FTA with the U.S.

It condemned the conservative forces for pursuing the policy of confrontation with fellow countrymen and escalating the military tension on the Korean Peninsula to an extreme phase in denial of the June 15 joint declaration.

It charged that the GNP is sticking to the economic policy aimed at meeting the interests of foreign capital, big businesses and the rich while suppressing the movement of different circles for democracy by invoking the "National Security Law", an anti-human rights law.

The article called upon all the progressive forces to unite close and boost the grand alliance of the anti-conservative forces.
