At a diplomatic gathering on Mar. 19 she accused the U.S. of imposing protectionist barriers on Brazilian goods. She branded this as a selfish action to rid only the U.S. of the financial crisis.

This compels other countries to take their own countermeasures, she said.

She called for building fair and equal trade relations.
