High-yielding Fruit Trees Planted
Pyongyang, March 18 (KCNA) -- Fruit farms in the DPRK have planted fruit trees of good species in spring.

They, following the example of the Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm, plan to put the fruit farming on a scientific, intensive and modern basis. They are now planting dwarf apple trees and pear, peach, apricot, plum and jujube trees.

The Kosan Fruit Farm has applied manure to hundreds of hectares, more than 100 tons per hectare, and planted dwarf apple trees in a scientific way.

After finishing a land rezoning project, the Hwangju Fruit Farm has transplanted high-yielding fruit trees on a large scale.

Fruit farms in South and North Phyongan, and South and North Hwanghae Provinces are working on digging pits and carrying compost to orchards.

The fruit tree planting is going on as scheduled in other fruit farms, too, including the Pukchong, Ryongjon, Toksong and Jongphyong Fruit Farms in South Hamgyong Province.
