Korea Boasts of Time-Honored Tea Culture
Pyongyang, March 16 (KCNA) -- Unjong Tea enjoys a great popularity in Pyongyang.

The tea plant is cultivated in Kangryong County, South Hwanghae Province.

The Korean people have liked to drink tea from olden times.

Tea is diverse in its kind, with grain teas having a long history.

Sungnyung (scorched-rice tea) is prepared easily after boiling rice. The tasty and nutritive tea is taken after meal. The grain teas also include five-grain (rice, millet, beans, wheat and barnyard millet) tea and barley tea.

There are also other teas made with roots, leaves and fruits. Insam (ginseng) Tea and Kasiogalphi (Eleutherococcus senticosus) Tea are very good for health, while Sollip (pine-leaf) Tea reduces cholesterol in blood.
