China Makes Efforts to Eradicate Aftermath of Earthquake
Beijing, March 14 (KCNA) -- China is making efforts to eradicate the aftermath of earthquake that hit Yingjiang County, Yunnan Province.

The party and the government of China have taken positive steps to bring the living of the people in the afflicted areas to normal as early as possible and put the production in various fields going.

In the wake of earthquake General Secretary of the C.C., the Communist Party of China Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao instructed officials to carry out rescue operations with top priority given to the safety of the people in the afflicted areas.

The Organizational Department of the C.C., the CPC released a notice calling on party organizations at all level, party members and cadres in the quake-hit areas to positively conduct the rescue operations in the spirit of the important instructions from the C.C., the CPC.

All sectors and units are sending tents, medicines and other relief materials to the quake-stricken areas.

As of March 14, 8,913 tents, quilts, padded clothes, disinfectants and other relief materials reached those areas. Many medical workers are conducting service activities in relevant areas.

More than 6,100 soldiers of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the Chinese People's Armed Police Force, members of the militia and reserve units are taking the lead in the rescue operations with all efforts.

Thanks to their efforts, transport, communications, network of electricity and other basic facilities are being recovered.

The work to eradicate the damage of earthquake is going on.
