Friendship and Solidarity, Avowed Ideas of DPRK's Foreign Policy
Pyongyang, March 16 (KCNA) -- To boost friendship and solidarity with all the countries and peoples aspiring after independence is one of the steadfast principles of the DPRK's foreign policy. Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says this in a bylined article.

It goes on:

The changes in international relations at present require countries to boost friendly relations.

Only when all the countries and peoples aspiring after independence support and cooperate with each other and boost genuine international friendship can they shatter the imperialist aggression forces' war policy and moves for domination, defend peace and achieve national prosperity and development.

When all the countries give support and achieve solidarity on the principle of independence, equality, mutual respect and non-interference in others' internal affairs, friendly relations among countries can become genuine and solid ones.

Big-power chauvinists tend to put down and dominate others in relations among countries and nations while sycophants fawn on big and developed countries, while reading their faces, not relying on one's own strength. Such actions will cause inequality and discord among countries and nations, making it difficult to forge genuine friendly relations.

The DPRK is maintaining the stand to establish and normalize diplomatic relations even with those countries that had had inglorious relations with it, not asking the past, if they respect its sovereignty. Several countries have established diplomatic relations with the DPRK in recent years alone.

It is the steadfast stand of the DPRK to establish and develop friendly, cooperative and good-neighborly relations with all the countries in the world which respect its sovereignty and are friendly toward it and thus shatter the war policy of the imperialist aggression forces and their moves for domination and make positive contributions to defending peace and realizing global independence.
