Mt. Suyang Wall
Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- The wall of Mt. Suyang in Haeju City, South Hwanghae Province was built in the period of Koguryo kingdom.

The wall commands a complete view of the Yonbaek Plain and Haeju Bay.

The wall is 5 258 meters in circumference and about five meters in height, high in the eastern, southern and northern parts and low in the western part. There are two deep valleys and an open space inside the wall.

The wall was erected two-fold, capped by big flat stones 0.3 meter forward.

The wall has four lintelled gates in all directions.

Water drains through a valley east of the south gate to form the Suyang Waterfall.

The wall is associated with Korean people's fight against Japanese invaders in the Imjin Patriotic War (1592-1598).
