Voluntary Activities for Higher Civilization and New Spirit Called for in China

Beijing, March 12 (KCNA) -- The Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Office of Beijing's Spiritual Civilization Construction Commission held a meeting in Beijing on March 7. They made arrangements for voluntary service activities to establish new traits while giving importance to higher civilization.

The meeting said that these activities are the effective way for increasing the moral level of the whole society and provide a sure guarantee for strengthening its management and holding major activities including the celebrations of the 90th anniversary of the CPC.

It underscored the need to unify the idea and successfully conduct all the work and thus bring about a surge in the voluntary service activities. It also stressed the need to create highly civilized and harmonious social circumstances favorable for celebrating the 90th anniversary of the party founding.
