Resignation of Naoto Kan Urged
Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan admitted Friday that his fund management body received donations from a south Korean resident in Japan.

Major Japanese daily the Yomiuri Shimbun reported in its morning edition Friday that Kan's fund management body received a total of 1.04 million yen in donations from 2006 to 2009 from a man who was a former board member of a south Korean-affiliated financial institution.

Kan said in parliament that he was ''totally unaware'' that the donor was a foreign national and he does not intend to resign as premier over the donations.

The Liberal Democratic Party and other opposition parties moved to intensify their offensive against him over the latest case.

LDP Vice President Tadamori Oshima told reporters that "it is shocking news", adding that now is the time for Kan "to clarify everything to the people, apologize and own the responsibility for it."
