National Meeting of Active Women's Union Members for Songun Culture Held
Pyongyang, March 10 (KCNA) -- A national meeting of active women's union members for Songun culture was held here on Thursday.

Present there were Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Choe Ryong Hae, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Jon Ha Chol, vice-premier of the DPRK Cabinet, officials concerned and exemplary officials and members of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea.

A report of Ro Song Sil, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the union, was followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers said that President Kim Il Sung set it as an important task of the women's union to establish cultured practice in life and led them with warm care so that they might creditably perform their moral duties and responsibilities before families and society.

Noting that the shining history of the Korean women's movement is recorded with the immortal exploits of indomitable revolutionary fighter Kang Pan Sok and anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk, they went on:

General Secretary Kim Jong Il indicated tasks and ways for establishing Songun culture throughout the society in his many works and has wisely led the drive to implement them.

Referring to the great achievements made in the drive of the organizations and members of the union to establish cultured practice in life in the era of Songun, they underscored the need for all officials and members of the union to fulfill their duties in the efforts to glorify Songun Korea as a highly civilized power.

An appeal to the members of the union and women across the country was adopted there.

It called upon all of them to always live a worthwhile life, keeping pace with the footsteps of Kim Jong Il making ceaseless forced march of highest intensity to translate the desire of the President to build a rich and powerful nation into reality.
