ASEAN Member States Cooperate in Economy

Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- Member states of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) recently held the 17th meeting of ministers of Economy in Vientiane, Laos, to discuss the matters for strengthened economic cooperation in the region.

The ministers underscored the need to further promote the work for integration of the ASEAN, saying that if developed member states assist new member states, this would help iron out differences within the ASEAN.

They also stressed that the ASEAN should play an important role in regional and international economic structure and direct efforts to economic cooperation with other organizations.
