Pro-reunification Champion Calls for Independent Reunification
Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- Yun Ki Jin, former chairman of the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance of Youth and Students for Korea's Reunification (Pomchonghakryon), was released on Feb. 26. He was in prison on the charge of violation of the notorious "National Security Law."

Meeting with personages of different circles and students present to greet him at a prison gate, he denounced the present "government" for its self-righteous attitude. He called for carrying on a dynamic practical campaign to achieve independent reunification.

As already known, the present south Korean authorities resorted to all sorts of persecution and suppression of him after throwing him behind bars on Feb. 27, 2008, that was three days after their seizure of power, for the mere reason that he devoted himself to the movement for the country's reunification.

They sentenced him to three years in prison on charges that he produced "enemy-benefiting literature" and "sent a delegate of the south Korean Federation of University Student Councils to the north to receive instructions" while working as chairman of the South Headquarters of Pomchonghakryon.

The puppet forces hatched a sinister plot to detain him again in the run-up to his release on the expiration of the prison term, touching off bitter resentment among south Koreans.
