Chinese Paper Flails US-Japan-S. Korea Military Drills
Pyongyang, March 3 (KCNA) -- China's People's Daily on Feb. 28 denounced the joint military exercises of the U.S., Japan and south Korea.

In an article titled "Military exercises are aimed to keep pressure and tighten alliance" the newspaper said that the exercises were outwardly annual ones in the main, but the DPRK regarded them as a provocation now that the acute confrontation has lasted since March last year.

The policy toward the DPRK pursued by the U.S., Japan and south Korea will deepen instability of regional situation and thus surely increase the danger, it said, and went on:

The political meaning of modern military exercises has already surpassed the military meaning.

Judging from strategic view, one of the main links in the U.S. world strategy is to constantly intensify coordination and cooperation with south Korea and Japan through military exercises and maintain its military existence and position in Northeast Asia.

Therefore, the U.S., Japan and south Korea will seek to hold the upper hand in the forthcoming change of security structure in Northeast Asia.
