Korean Art Gallery
Pyongyang, March 2 (KCNA) -- The Korean Art Gallery situated on the banks of the River Taedong is one of the nation's storehouses of cultural assets.

The gallery, with a floor space of more than 10,000 square meters, houses art pieces showing the development of Juche-based fine arts. Conspicuous in the exhibits are those picturing activities and noble virtues of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu -- President Kim Il Sung, General Secretary Kim Jong Il and anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk.

Some of the exhibits mirror the time-honored culture and traditions of the Korean nation.

The gallery boasts of famous art pieces dating back to the period of Koryo and the Ri Dynasty.

Visitors also can enjoy recently discovered art pieces portraying Kim Il Sung drawn in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. Among them are "Commander of Guerrillas", "Commander Kim's Order Rocks Mt. Changbai" and "Commander Kim Il Sung Elaborating Operation Plan".

Korean paintings, oil paintings, sculptures and embroideries are also on display.

National art exhibitions are held often at the gallery.
