Japan Urged to Opt for Settling Its Past --Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- It is nearly a century since the March First Popular Uprising and more than 60 years have elapsed since the Japanese imperialists' defeat. However, the Japanese militarists are persistently denying and distorting the hideous unethical crimes committed by them against the Korean people in the past, far from honestly admitting them and making apology and reparation for them.

Rodong Sinmun observes this in a bylined article Tuesday in this regard.

It has now become an international trend of the times to settle the past crimes, but only Japan is running the whole gamut of gimmicks in a desperate bid to dodge the settlement of its past crimes, the article says, and goes on:

The issue of settling the past crimes is not a mere matter of an assailant paying reparation to his victim. In other words, this issue cannot be interpreted as a mere matter concerning moral obligation. It is a matter showing whether the assailant is willing to break with his crime-woven past and turn over a new leaf or going to repeat it.

The Japanese reactionaries are set to follow in the footsteps of the Japanese imperialists to repeat their crimes in the past.

They are stepping up the militarization, backed by the U.S. imperialists. They are, at the same time, working with blood-shot eyes to realize their wild ambition for reinvasion of Korea and other Asian countries in a bid to translate their old dream of "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere" into reality. The Japanese militarists remain unchanged in their nature and ambition for aggression and are becoming evermore undisguised in their moves for reinvasion.

The Japanese reactionary ruling quarters have openly disclosed their scenario for reinvasion of Korea in recent years.

The army and people of the DPRK will never allow the Japanese militarist forces to desperately stage a comeback to Korea under the U.S. war umbrella in the new century.
