Kim Jong Il Praised in Peru
Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang Cultural Center in Peru issued a bulletin to mark the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

The bulletin carried an article with his photos.

The article said:

Kim Jong Il was born in the secret camp on Mt. Paektu on February 16, 1942.

Born of a patriotic and revolutionary family, he grew up to be the successor to the revolutionary cause of Juche.

He, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, continues to provide field guidance to different sectors of the national economy.

The Korean people are advancing toward a higher goal.

This year the DPRK set it as a major task to bring about a decisive turn in improving the people's standard of living and building a thriving nation by accelerating the light industry once again.

Elaborating on the great successes made by the Korean people in building a thriving nation, the bulletin said that all the achievements are attributable to the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
