Kim Jong Il's Birthday Celebrated Abroad
Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries between Feb. 13 and 16 to celebrate the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

They included a friendly meeting, photo exhibition and a film show in Myanmar and a meeting, photo exhibition and a film show in India.

Displayed in their venues were books and photos on the immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

Films shown included "The Tower of the Juche Idea", "The Country Shining with Arms of Mt. Paektu" and "Arms of Korea".

The director of the International Department of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar said in a friendly meeting that the Korean people and other world progressives were recalling with deep emotion the undying feats of Kim Jong Il for prosperity and development of the country and freedom and happiness of the people and global independence.

New miracles have been wrought in different fields of the DPRK's national economy thanks to his unbreakable faith and tireless and distinguished Songun leadership, he added.

Balzor Singh Chauhan, chairman of the Indian Youth Group for the Study of Works of Comrade Kim Il Sung, said at a meeting that Kim Jong Il achieved a harmonious whole of the leader and the people and that socialist Korea stood unshaken despite any political adversity thanks to this single-minded unity.

Kim Jong Il has shown the road ahead of the world people desirous of independence by developing in depth the Juche idea, he stressed.

A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting held by the Indian Intellectuals' Society for the Study of the Juche Idea.
