Foreign Papers Observe Kim Jong Il's Birthday
Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- Newspapers of different countries gave special write-ups to celebrate the birthday of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

China's newspaper Heilongjiang Daily on Feb. 16 carried articles titled "Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm, leading fruit producer", "Kaeson Youth Park presenting world of ecstatic dream", etc. with a photo of Kim Jong Il receiving the Chinese minister of Public Security.

Also edited in the paper were pictures of the Korean people leading worthwhile working life and spending pleasant time of rest.

The Feb. 16th issue of the Kuwaiti newspaper Kuwait Times gave one whole page to articles titled "The Juche idea and economic development of the DPRK", "The underground resources, focus of the world", etc. with photos of Kim Jong Il waving back to the cheering crowd and providing field guidance to the Huichon Power Station under construction.

In an article entitled "The ideal of leader Kim Jong Il" the paper said: The international community is witnessing the reality that the building of a thriving nation, the wish of President Kim Il Sung and the ideal of Kim Jong Il, is being realized in the DPRK.

The Namibian paper New Era on Feb. 11 said in an article titled "The DPRK's mode of building a thriving nation seen through one slogan": The slogan "Look out over the world while keeping your feet firmly planted on your own land!" reflects the steadfast will of the Korean people to build a thriving nation their own way under the uplifted banner of the Juche idea.

The Mexican paper Unidad Nacional and the Syrian paper Al Baath on Feb. 15 carried articles introducing the Korean people who are conducting a general offensive full of confidence in victory without the slightest wavering in the drive to build a thriving nation under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
